The Sphelar Solar Jacket is a concept for a jacket that offers the opportunity to produce electricity while hiking. Designed for several day trekking tours its woven-in solar cells allow to charge a battery, which in turn enables the user to supply his navigation device, satellite messenger or smartphone with electricity. Thus the supply of the navigation device and the satellite transmitter is always guaranteed. The USB port for charging devices is integrated in one of the pockets of the jacket, whilst the hood can supply a light-emitting diode with electricity with the aid of two buttons. The light-emitting diode can be fixed there and compensates for the usage of a headlamp.
